The India China Institute (ICI) is proud to co-sponsor a discussion with Nandita Das at Hunter College on March 21st. Das will be speaking and participating in a group discussion along with New York University and Hunter College Faculty members Ritty Lukose, Shyama Venkateswar and Karna Basu.
An award-winning film director (2008’s Firaaq, based on the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat violence) she is also an accomplished actor and human rights activist, who regularly speaks about the impact of her films in relation to the promotion of social movements in India.
The event will be hosted by our Hunter College co-sponsors, The Hunter College Women and Gender Studies Program and South Asia @NYU at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, 47-49 E. 65th Street, between Park and Madison. The event is free and open to the public. 5:30 – 7:00pm.
