ICI Faculty Affiliate and New School Associate Professor of Religion Mark Larrimore recently published an article in Public Seminar in which he examines TNS’s early engagement with China. H. T. Tsiang was a radical Chinese-born writer from the early 20th century affiliated with The New School and author of Hanging in Union Square, a novel about Depression-era lower New York. The article examines in part the question of The New School’s openness to the transpacific during that era.
