Professor S.D. Muni is a Visiting Research Professor at The Institute of South Asian Studies. He was India’s Special Envoy to Southeast Asian countries on UN Security Council Reforms (2005-06), and also the editor of Indian Foreign Affairs Journal. At Jawaharlal Nehru University he was Chairman of the Centre for South, Central and Southeast Asian Studies (1991-93) and held the prestigious Appadorai Chair of International Relations and Area Studies.
