India China Institute invites you to Re-Orient: India, China and the West in the 21st Century, a lecture by Prem Shankar Jha.

Considered among the finest authors and journalists in India today, Prem Shankar Jha is the author of several books including The Perilous Road to the Market: Political Economy of Reform in Russia, India and China and Kashmir 1947: The Origins of a Dispute. His most recent book, Crouching Dragon, Hidden Tiger: Can China and India Dominate the West? looks at the interaction of economic with political and social change in China and India. The book also examines the social and political conflicts that the market has unleashed, and the success of the countries in containing it. Prem Shankar Jha has recently been a Visiting Fellow at the Fairbank Centre at Harvard University, the Visiting Chair in India’s Political Economics at the University of Science Politique in Paris and was a senior advisor to the Prime Minister of India.
