SUPER, GIRLS!

Launched in 2005, the “Super Girl Singing Contest” TV show has spawned what has arguably become the single most important Chinese pop culture phenomena of this decade so far. “Super, Girls!” is the only feature-length documentary made so far on this show. The show, being “too popular”, is banned by broadcast media authorities in Beijing from 2007 onward.
